The twenty-two phenomenal women who founded our public service organization in 1913 wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to people in need.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization built on Christian principles whose purpose is to provide services and programs that promote human welfare. The women of Delta are dedicated to sisterhood, scholarship and service.

As the first African-American Greek letter sorority at the University of North Carolina, the Kappa Omicron chapter continues to strengthen the legacy set forth by the sorority’s five programmatic thrusts.

 

These include: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness/Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness /Involvement.
